I started Mother Brooklyn in 2013 as a reference site to help new parents like myself navigate Brooklyn with children. I compiled a resource list of places that parents in my neighborhood needed to visit such as pediatricians and daycares. I made a Pinterest page with products I’ve found useful in the hopes that others would find that less is more even when raising children (and especially when raising children in cramped cities).
I’m a Family Manager and can help you with anything you need in order to have a less stressful home life. See my Services page for more information.
A little about me, I was born in NYC, raised in the midwest, and I’ve been living in brownstone Brooklyn for over a decade. I’m a licensed Master of Social Work (LMSW) in NY state and have worked with children and families for the past 15 years. Most recently I’ve been working in local food, and I’m a supporter of Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) and local farms. I’m a step-mom to Inez (born in 2001) and mom to Judah Pax (born in 2011). I live with my husband Ray and children in Clinton Hill.
